Oribi WorkpassID can ask for an A1 certificate and for a WASP employer declaration. The two requests follow different conditions.
Applies to projects that use the Portuguese compliance rules in WorkpassID.
For the legal background, see the FAQ: The A1 certificate when working in Portugal
A1 certificate
For a worker registered under the chain liability subcontractor role, WorkpassID requests an A1 when the nationality of the worker or the country of the employer is in the foreign EEA group of the product. This group includes Switzerland. Portugal is treated separately. The same applies to self-employed registrations. WorkpassID does not ask Suppliers or the project's own organisation for an A1.
WorkpassID does not check for a recorded posting. An EEA national who is employed by a Portuguese company can therefore see an A1 request. If the request does not match the person's social security coverage, ask the assessor to review it.
Upload the certificate in "A1 certificate (Reg. 883/2004)" and check its dates. WorkpassID does not request a Certificate of Coverage automatically and does not treat one as a replacement for the A1. Ask the assessor how to handle alternative evidence.
WASP employer declaration
"WASP employer declaration" is the name WorkpassID uses for an employer declaration about the payment of social security contributions. WorkpassID requests it for every worker under the chain liability subcontractor role when the company belongs to the non-EEA country group. The request follows the company country, not the nationality of the worker. It also appears for self-employed registrations in that situation. WorkpassID does not ask Suppliers or the project's own organisation for it.
A worker can receive both a WASP request and an A1 request, because the conditions are different. A WASP does not automatically replace an A1 or a Certificate of Coverage.
Before you prepare a WASP, confirm the accepted form and content with the assessor. For self-employed registrations, ask how to fulfil the request. Upload the agreed evidence in the WASP request and check the assessment result.
