Workers who enter a work location for the first time must identify themselves with an identity card, passport, or Dutch residence permit. A driving licence is not sufficient on that occasion. From the second working day onwards, a driving licence may be used for identification.
Workers
On the first working day, a worker must always identify themselves with an identity card, passport, or Dutch residence permit. A driving licence is not sufficient, because it contains no information about residence status or nationality. This information is required in order to work at a work location. From the second working day onwards, a driving licence may be used.
For administration purposes, certain details from workers' identity documents are recorded. Would you like to know which details these are? Read this article.
Visitors
Visitors may identify themselves at the work location with a driving licence. An identity card or passport is also accepted. The person responsible at the work location does not record any details for this purpose.
Third parties
Third parties who perform work must also identify themselves with an identity card, passport, or Dutch residence permit. The person responsible at the work location records details in some cases.
