There is sometimes confusion about the assignment details between the self-employed worker and the client. In this article you can read more about assignment details and how Oribi WorkpassID handles them.
When a company enrolls a self-employed worker, assignment details often need to be added.
What is an assignment?
When a contractor engages a self-employed worker, there should always be an assignment. Among other things, this assignment sets out which work the self-employed worker carries out.
Why is this requested?
The Organisation (main contractor) wants to prevent false self-employment. So demonstrate that your administration is in order and that the self-employed worker has genuinely been given an assignment. This gives the Organisation more certainty.
What happens with these details?
The assignment details are stored in WorkpassID. The Organisation uses these details to approve or reject the enrollment. There are no automatic checks on these details.
Details requested for an assignment
Assignment number
Record in your administration which self-employed workers work for you. Give each assignment a number so that you can always retrieve it. You determine this number yourself.
Assignment date
You also record when you issued this assignment to the self-employed worker. If you no longer know the exact date, you can also enter the first day of the work.
Assignment description
What work is the self-employed worker going to carry out? This does not have to be an exhaustive description. 'Carpentry' can be a perfectly good description.
A (model) agreement
Depending on the Organisation's precise settings, it may be mandatory to provide a modelovereenkomst (model agreement approved by the Belastingdienst (Dutch Tax and Customs Administration)).
Liability insurance
Liability insurance is not a legal requirement for self-employed workers. Nevertheless, almost all clients and trade associations require you to take out this insurance. With liability insurance you are protected against claims if you cause damage to others or if someone is injured as a result of your work.
