For chain liability construction subcontractors, the works type of the project decides which IMPIC upload Oribi WorkpassID asks for.
Applies to projects that use the Portuguese compliance rules in WorkpassID.
For the legal routes, see the FAQ: What is the alvará/certificado (IMPIC construction licence)?, Foreign companies and the IMPIC licence and The simplified regime for occasional EEA contractors.
Which upload applies
Private works: "PT IMPIC - obras particulares (ou publicas)". The accepted evidence that is documented includes the private-works licence, the public-works licence or the applicable article 28 comprovativo. There is no separate upload for the simplified route.
Public works: "PT alvara IMPIC - obras publicas".
This also applies to self-employed registrations. There is no separate upload for a declaração de habilitação. If your valid authorisation follows another route, particularly for public works, ask the assessor how to provide it. The name of an upload does not confirm that you are legally eligible.
The description of the private-works request on screen may not list every accepted alternative. If you are not sure, ask the assessor.
When no IMPIC upload is requested
WorkpassID asks non-self-employed companies that declare they supply workers for agency authorisation instead. See [Documents for companies that supply workers]. Suppliers and the project's own organisation have no company document requests.
An unexpected public-works request
This can mean that the project is set to public works. Ask the project administrator to check the setting.
What WorkpassID does not do
WorkpassID does not check the live IMPIC register. It also does not renew this upload automatically based on the dates of the licence. A saved copy does not show the current status of the licence.
