Oribi WorkpassID asks Portuguese chain liability subcontractors, including self-employed registrations, for tax and social security certificates, a register extract and work-accident insurance.
Applies to projects that use the Portuguese compliance rules in WorkpassID. The FAQ articles linked below explain the meaning of each document.
Tax certificate
WorkpassID asks Portuguese companies for "PT certidao de nao divida (AT)". It asks foreign companies for "Foreign tax no-debt certificate". The choice follows the company country. It does not follow the NIPC, the VAT registration or a permanent establishment. If a foreign company also has Portuguese tax obligations, ask the assessor which extra evidence is needed. The request on screen does not settle that.
Social security certificate
WorkpassID asks Portuguese companies for "PT declaracao situacao contributiva (ISS)". It asks foreign companies for "Foreign social security no-debt certificate". The choice follows the company country. It does not depend on whether the foreign company also has a Portuguese registration.
Register extract
The request is "Certidao permanente / register extract". It also appears for self-employed registrations. It is a file upload. There is no field for a register access code. Check that the document names the right business. If your self-employed business has no applicable extract, ask the assessor how to handle the request.
Work-accident insurance
The request is "PT apolice acidentes de trabalho". It is a company-level request for every chain liability subcontractor, including self-employed registrations and foreign businesses. It is not a separate upload for each worker. WorkpassID does not ask Suppliers or the project's own organisation for it. This does not decide whether insurance is legally required for their activities.
Validity
WorkpassID does not calculate renewals from the dates on these documents. An assessor can set a separate validity date for the approval. After that date, a new assessment is needed. Keep both the documents and the approval up to date.
