With Onboarding, Oribi WorkpassID gives workers the ability to enroll themselves independently. This simplifies the process at the work location and makes it possible for workers to start working straight away, without anyone from your organisation needing to be present on site. Thanks to this self-enrollment, you as the main contractor can deploy Oribi WorkpassID on more types of projects.
This article is intended for organisations. Are you a worker and would you like to know more about Onboarding? Read on here.
The components of Onboarding
Depending on the project settings, workers can carry out various components independently. Because they complete these steps themselves, they no longer need to report to a fixed location on the work location for legal and regulatory purposes.
Following the safety instruction
Are you using a safety instruction on the project? Then the worker can start it themselves via the status page. If the safety instruction has an expiry date, the worker can complete it again at a later time. When the safety instruction is set as mandatory, completing it is a required step within Onboarding.
Carrying out the identity check
Are you using Oribi MobileID? Then the worker can independently scan a passport or identity card once and have it checked. As a result, a physical check of the identity document on the work location is no longer necessary.
Installing the Oribi WorkpassID app
When attendance registration is enabled on the project via the Oribi WorkpassID app (for example with QR codes or checking in and out based on location), activating the Oribi WorkpassID app is a mandatory component within the status page. Is attendance registration not used? Then installing the Oribi WorkpassID app is optional. In that case, the app still gives workers access to relevant project information.
Registering
The Register component replaces the traditional signing on the work location screen. With this digital registration, the worker confirms their identity and that they have received the instruction for working safely. This step is available when the 'Sign remotely' setting is enabled.
Other things to note within Onboarding
With the introduction of Onboarding, a number of additional changes have been made. These are necessary for the process to function correctly:
A unique email address is required for every worker. This is needed in order to send status updates by email.
When a project uses Onboarding, the subcontractor no longer sees an overview of the safety instruction status on the Complete tab in the vault.
Instead, the Complete tab shows an overview of workers without a unique email address, with the option to fill in this email address after all.
