For every self-employed worker who submits their details, an assessment task starts automatically. This happens regardless of who the client is or the level in the Chain.
➕ You have control over all self-employed workers at your work location because you check them yourself
➖ It is more work to check all self-employed workers
No (default setting)
Assessments start for self-employed workers whose contractor has not (yet) been approved.
For example:
Your project
Contractor Jansen
Subcontractor Pietersen
Self-employed worker Klaassen
If Jansen has been approved, you do not get an assessment for Klaassen. If the assessment for Jansen has expired or been updated, and the self-employed worker submits their details for the project at that moment, an assessment starts for you immediately.
The idea behind this setting is as follows: if you can make good agreements with your contractors in your procurement contracts, you assume that the self-employed workers they engage are ‘in order’. You then choose not to check them yourself as well.
➕ You do not need to assess all self-employed workers (less workload)
➖ You cannot be 100% certain that a self-employed worker at your work location has everything in order
➖ You have no guarantee that the contractor has checked the self-employed worker for you
