A self-employed registration in Oribi WorkpassID has business documents, a worker record and independence statements that you sign.
Applies to projects that use the Portuguese compliance rules in WorkpassID. Choose the self-employed organisation type only when it matches the real working arrangement.
Business documents (chain liability subcontractor role)
WorkpassID requests:
"PT declaracao inicio de atividade (AT)", the evidence that your activity was registered.
"PT service / subcontracting agreement", your service or subcontracting agreement.
"Certidao permanente / register extract".
"PT apolice acidentes de trabalho".
Portuguese tax and social security clearance certificates for a Portuguese business, or the home-country equivalents for a foreign business.
The IMPIC document for private or public works.
These requests also apply to a foreign self-employed business where they are shown. The country does not remove the request for the activity registration. If a requested document does not exist for your situation, ask the assessor to review it. Do not replace it with an unrelated document.
Your worker record
WorkpassID requests the NIF, the NISS and the personnel number for chain liability subcontractor and Supplier registrations. It does not request the ID type, number and expiry date, or the employment contract type, for self-employed workers. The third-country uploads can still apply. The A1 and other worker requests depend on the country and the project role. See the section Workers.
Independence statements
When you sign, you review statements about your own tools, no fixed working hours, your own price, several clients, the possibility to propose a substitute, insurance and tax responsibility.
These statements are part of the registration record. They are not an automatic legal test, and they do not prove that the relationship is independent. WorkpassID does not create a separate assessor decision for each statement. Read them before you sign. If they do not match how the work is organised, discuss the registration with the responsible company. A signed declaration or a service agreement cannot change the facts of the working relationship.
