If the connection to the access control at the construction site is not working, the Net2 software by Paxton may have frozen. This article explains how to restart the connection step by step.
Note: This applies to access control from DeterTech, BetaGuard, EBTC, R.S.E, MBS, VWML, Mansveld, BUKO, IQ-Pass, MyGuard and BauWatch.
Restarting the Net2 server
Right-click the green triangle icon.
Click Stop the Net2 server.
Wait approximately 15 seconds for the server to stop. The icon turns grey. If you hover the mouse over the icon, you can see whether the server has stopped or is still stopping.
Once the server shows the status Service stopped, you can start it again.
Right-click the grey triangle icon.
Choose Start the Net2 server.
Once the status shows Waiting (or: Idle) again, Net2 is back online.
You may receive a prompt asking for a password and username. If you do not have these, you can contact your access supplier to restart the Net2 server, or contact the Oribi helpdesk.
If you have the Net2 Access Control programme (the general Net2 programme) open, it will display an error message as soon as the Net2 server stops using the steps above. The programme will then close immediately, as it can no longer find the Net2 server. Once you have restarted the Net2 server (step 5 above), you can also restart Net2 Access Control.
